It's now time to renew your membership for 2009. Just go to the Memberships section on our website, where you can make a secure payment by credit card, obtain direct deposit details, or send a cheque to PO Box 6276 EAST PERTH WA 6893.
Members' benefits include regular seminars with drinks and snacks (free of charge to members), reduced fees for events like the Annual Convention and other IRS Conventions, hard copy Journal of Industrial Relations sent to you quarterly, and networking opportunities.
Another reason to get your membership renewed soon is so you can nominate for a position on the Industrial Relations Society of WA Committee, and so you can vote at the AGM.
The AGM will be held 24 February 2009 at the University Club, UWA. Two speakers will present on the Fair Work Bill following the AGM. Further details to follow.
Members who attended the Annual Convention in Mandurah in November and are interested in the CDP Activity approved by the Legal Practice Board, can now find details here. Essentially, the convention attracted a total of 5.5 CPD points. For your information, the LPB has listed the IRSWA Convention on their website at http://www.lpbwa.org.au/cpd_approvedqa.html.
