Rob Guthrie is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Business Law at Curtin University. He has been training and teaching for the past 11 years in Industrial and Employment laws, having also been a legal practitioner since 1981.

In 1991 Rob was the chair of an enquiry into Workers Compensation Dispute Resolution and as a consequence of the report legislative changes were made to the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 1981(WA). In 1999 Rob was again asked to contribute to the examination of compensation laws and was a member of the Pearson Committee, which reported to the then Minister for Labour Relations Cheryl Edwardes.

The Guthrie report 2001 is a further evolution of Workers Compensation law in Western Australia.
